To continue to support Club members and families while its sites are closed, Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County is excited to announce the launch of their CLUBatHome platform!
CLUBatHome is the virtual version of BGCEC where Club members can participate in fun programs and meaningful activities, and keep in touch with their leaders and friends, without leaving their homes. We want to continue to build Great Futures in our virtual environment using videos, Stride Academy, MyFuture.Net, and other online resources.
Club members will be able to stay connected and engage with their Club Directors and favorite staff with fun activities and programs to keep brains learning, bodies active and connections strong. Read-alongs, Arts, DIY STEM, Career Exploration, and Healthy Habits are just some of the programs we are running virtually. Club members not only learn great skills, but can also earn prizes based on how many activities they accomplish, and how many badges they earn in the MyFuture program.
Our staff is working hard to create and implement virtual programming to help our families and kids feel less isolated and more supported.
Kevin Deary, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County
Resources currently in place and under development include:
- A BGCEC CLUBatHome virtual platform that provides: at-home activities for all ages, interactive videos, scheduled live check-ins with our site teams, and virtual challenges and projects
- Integration and support for the My.Future digital learning platform.
- Utilization of Stride Academy’s education platform, an adaptive learning program that personalizes learning for every student, based on their needs.
- Communication and posting/sharing of our member’s activities and projects with our parents to keep them involved and engaged with our community and their kids.
- Resources for families about dealing with coronavirus, advice from the CDC, resources for meals, support, and services like free internet access
To meet this need, we must keep our staff healthy and compensated and provide digital and physical program supplies. Our doors cannot close, and our programming cannot halt due to this national challenge. You can help at this critical time by donating today through BGCEC's online giving platform.
