    From the Club to College: Celebrating the 2025 Nick Bricker Scholarship Recipients

     The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Nick Bricker Memorial Scholarship Award. 

    Four exceptional high school seniors from the Middlebury, Nappanee, and Elkhart Clubs have been selected for this prestigious, multi-year scholarship in honor of the late Nick Bricker—a former Goshen student, student-athlete, and youth advocate who inspired others through his strength, perseverance, and kindness.
    Each scholarship recipient will receive $6,000 in tuition support over four years: $1,000 in year one, $1,500 in years two and three, and $2,000 in the fourth year.
    The 2025 Nick Bricker Memorial Scholarship recipients are: 
    1. Maliyah Reed, Northridge High School – Business, attending Ivy Tech Community College (Middlebury Club) 
    2. A'Dreanna Brown, Elkhart High School – Nursing (RN), attending Indiana University Bloomington (Elkhart Club)
    3.  Annah Charles, Northridge High School – Mechanical Engineering, attending Goshen College (Middlebury Club) 
    4. Kylin Wuthrich, NorthWood High School – Developmental and Family Science, attending Purdue University (Nappanee Club)
    “These young leaders embody the spirit and values that Nick Bricker lived by every day—especially during the final years of his life,” said Dr. Tami Hicks, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County. “They are resilient, compassionate, and driven to make a difference. It is a privilege to support them as they continue their education and prepare to shape the future.”
    The Nick Bricker Memorial Scholarship was created by the Holderman family and Nick's loved ones to honor his legacy. Following a tragic car accident just after his 18th birthday that left him a quadriplegic, Nick dedicated his life to mentoring teens and encouraging them to make wise choices. He passed away at age 21, but his dream of empowering youth lives on through this scholarship.
    As recipients, these students will also join the BGC Alumni & Friends network, staying connected to the Club community and continuing Nick’s mission to lift others up.
