MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — Ten-year-old Clara Bennett of Middlebury has been named the recipient of the President's Choice Award at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County's County-Wide Youth Art Show for her acrylic-on-canvas piece titled "It Was Us".
Clara, a member of the Middlebury Clubhouse, earned the distinguished honor for her creativity, artistic expression, and outstanding craftsmanship. As the recipient of the President's Choice Award, Clara's artwork will be professionally displayed in the community at Bronko's Pizza in Middlebury, giving local residents the opportunity to enjoy and celebrate the work of one of the county's talented young artists.

"Art gives young people a voice, builds confidence, and allows them to express ideas and emotions in powerful ways. Clara's work is a wonderful example of the talent that exists within our Clubs."
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County extends its appreciation to Brad, owner of Bronko's Pizza, for partnering with the organization to showcase Clara's artwork and support local youth. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County's County-Wide Art Show is presented gallery-style and features artwork created by Club members from each clubhouse across the county. The annual exhibition celebrates creativity through a variety of artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, photography, and music.
Youth artists compete within age groups and media categories, with category winners advancing to regional and national Boys & Girls Clubs of America competitions. Those advancing have opportunities to earn national recognition, scholarships, and other prestigious awards. The annual art show reflects the Boys & Girls Clubs' commitment to helping young people discover their passions, develop new skills, and build confidence through the arts.
