{Elkhart, March 4, 2021} - Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County - Brian & Jeannelle Brady Center offer quality after-school programs to the students of Elkhart.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County has been a force for good in the lives of youth, ages 6-18, for 65 years. With decades of experience in youth development and a team of skilled, caring professionals, we recognize potential in every child and teen who walks through our doors. We are here to elevate our members and let them know that they are capable, worthy, and important by offering supportive and interactive programs and activities each day. Elkhart County youth have faced a difficult school year with different school schedules, social distancing, new rules, masks, and many unknowns. Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County – Brian & Jeannelle Brady Center is doing whatever it takes to ensure our members have a sense of normalcy among a world of unknowns. Supporting the families of the Elkhart community has been a number one priority with the implementation of BGC Academy E-learning support in August, when school started with a hybrid schedule. BGC Academy offers the following to our members:
- A safe, caring place to be at during the school day when they are unable to be at school
- E-Learning support from staff they know and trust - they can ask questions and receive technical assistance
- Daily snacks and meals at no additional cost
- Recreational activities and academic enrichment activities for when schoolwork is complete or members are taking a study break
- To promote health, wellness, and safety among our members and staff, attendance has been limited, members are kept in the same small groups to help with contact tracing and limiting the number of different people our members encounter. Safety measures also include social distancing, required masks, daily temperature checks upon arrival, and regular daily cleaning and disinfecting of program areas.
- In the fall semester, 239 members attended Club programming, including BGC Academy
With the recent change in Elkhart Community Schools’ schedule starting on March 8th to include in-person school four days a week; Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County – Brian & Jeannelle Brady Center will be offering after-school programs Monday through Thursday during the after-school hours until 6:00 pm. In addition to the quality programs offered each day, members will have the opportunity to receive dinner and transportation home. BGC Academy programming will be offered for E-learning support on Fridays for those members in need of a safe, caring place to be during the day when school is not in session.
