    BGCEC's Jen Defrees Honored with Contribution to the Profession Award

    Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County is proud to congratulate Jen Defrees on winning Boys & Girls Club of America's Mid-West Contribution to the Profession Award.

    The Contribution to the Profession Award is presented to a Boys & Girls Club professional who has made a significant contribution towards the advancement of the Boys & Girls Club Movement during their career.
    Jen began her career with BGCEC as a KidsCare Site Manager in 2012, after interning with BGCEC through Ivy Tech. Over the past eight years, Jen has taken on increased responsibilities, being promoted to Accounts Payable and then KidsCare Billing Manager, before accepting her current role as BGCEC's Finance Manager.
    In addition to her regular duties, she's taken on special projects such as mentoring, volunteering, and organizing KidsCare's Christmas Adopt-a-family. Jen has also continued her education, earning her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2016. In 2017 she received the National Service to Youth Award from BGCA. In 2018 she was named Distinguished Alumni of the Year for Ivy Tech.
