FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [Elkhart County, Indiana]
Every child deserves a chance at a bright future, and sometimes, it only takes one moment, one person, or one act of kindness to make a profound impact. This belief is at the heart of the inspiring new campaign launched by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County - 'All It Takes is One'.
Imagine a world where a single mentor, experience, or opportunity can change the course of a child's life. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County, that is what we are creating. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where kids can discover and uncover their potential, develop leadership skills, and create bright futures for our local youth. This is the essence of 'All It Takes is One', a campaign about igniting hope and shaping the future of our community.
The event will run from October – December 2024 with the unveiling of life-sized Blue Doors at various businesses across Elkhart County. These symbolic doors represent a gateway to hope and opportunity for the youth who walk through the doors of the Boys & Girls Clubs. By scanning the QR code on these doors, community members can take a virtual tour, make a donation, and express their support for the cause.
One incredible, local way to contribute in Middlebury is through one of our community partners, Bill's Collision. For the months of October, November, and December, the office in Middlebury will host a blue door, inviting community members to stop by for a selfie and participate in a winter-wear drive to support local children as the temperatures drop. Bill's Collision recognizes the importance of providing warmth and comfort to the local youth during the colder months.
According to Tami Hicks, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County, "All it takes is one person, one gift, or one moment to change the life of a child. Through the support of our partners and donors, we can provide the resources necessary for our young people to thrive and succeed."
In the following months, the campaign will be marked by a series of engaging events designed to raise awareness and funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs. From 'Gives Back Nights' at local restaurants to a 'Day of Giving' at a popular coffee shop, there are numerous opportunities for community members to show their support and make a tangible difference. Upcoming events include:
October 7: Hacienda Gives Back Night in Goshen
October 22: Scooter's Coffee Give Back Morning in Nappanee
November 9: Hacienda Gives Back Night in Elkhart
October - December: Winter-Wear Drive at Bill's Collision in Middlebury
"We invite you to be part of this movement to create brighter futures for the children in our community," encourages Hicks. "Together, we can bring about meaningful change, one child at a time."
